The AI-ALOE Virtual Mini Retreat brought together more than 40 participants for a half-day of presentations and discussion. The event featured updates from across the Institute’s projects, highlighting advances in AI technologies for adult learning. The retreat provided space for collaboration and alignment.
Project Presentations Highlight Progress
Speakers shared updates on a range of AI-ALOE initiatives, including A4L, Apprentice Tutor, iTELL, Ivy, Jill Watson, SAMI, SMART, VERA, and user-engaged design research. Each session combined a short presentation with discussion, allowing participants to exchange insights and identify synergies across projects.
The retreat also included a presentation on Institute-level guidelines for designing AI agents for adult learning. These guidelines synthesize project-specific approaches into a shared framework, supporting AI-ALOE’s mission of advancing AI tools that empower learners.
Next Steps for AI-ALOE
