July 1, 2024 — AI-ALOE hosted its Evaluation Site Visit with the National Science Foundation (NSF) on June 20-21, 2024. This hybrid event was well-received by the NSF and featured a series of presentations, panel discussions, and open forums aimed at showcasing the institute’s progress and future plans.

Day 1 included a strategic overview of AI-ALOE’s research and accomplishments, with participants engaging in core research topics such as performance measurement and evaluation, foundational AI, and data infrastructure. This was followed by poster sessions where attendees could delve deeper into the institute’s cutting-edge projects and technologies.

The second day involved executive sessions for in-depth discussions and strategic planning. The visit concluded with a working lunch and a report-writing session by external evaluators, who provided valuable feedback and recommendations.

The two-day event highlighted AI-ALOE’s commitment to advancing education. With the valuable feedback received, the institute looks forward to entering Year 4.
