Georgia Tech has announced its intention to launch a new academic unit dedicated to lifetime learning. The new unit will bring together three entities whose work underpins its mission and vision: Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE), the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC), and the Center for 21st Century Universities (C21U).

“C21U has long been a thought leader in education innovation,” said interim executive director of C21U and an executive committee member of AI-ALOE , Steve Harmon. “The possibilities afforded by a new lifetime learning unit align well with our ongoing research efforts and should serve as a catalyst for us to help Georgia Tech advance as a global leader in this space.”

Ashok Goel, executive director of AI-ALOE and a professor of Computer Science and Human-Centered Computing is also a member of the lifetime learning working groups as part of the academic unit and comprises of Academic Vision, Research, Faculty Governance & Strategic Planning as well as AI-ALOE researcher David Joyner, the Executive Director of Online Education & OMSCS in Georgia Tech’s College of Computing.
