We welcome you to the External Advisory Board (EAB) meeting of the AI-ALOE Institute at Georgia Tech. This is our first in-person meeting of the EAB. Actually, this is also the first in-person meeting of the AI-ALOE team as a whole! Thus, we are very excited to have you join us.

The EAB meeting will be held indoors in the Klaus Advanced Computing Building at the Georgia Tech Campus. To ensure that this event is safe and successful, we encourage you to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommendations, vaccinate, and wear a mask based on preference and assessment of personal risk.

We also ask you to check off the items listed on the Covid-19 Daily Self-Screening Questions before coming to the meeting. To protect yourself and others, please stay home or at the hotel if you develop any of the illness symptoms.

  • The closest visitor parking to the Klaus Building is Visitor Area 4 located at the intersection of State Street & Ferst Drive. The cost is $2.00 per hour, payable by cash or card in advance.
  • If Visitor Area 4 is full, you may park in Visitor Area 5 off State Street & 10th Street. Detailed information of visitor parking areas can be found at https://pts.gatech.edu/visitors.

Walking Directions from Visitor Area 4 to Klaus Building:

  1. From Visitor Area 4, walk east on Ferst Drive toward Atlantic Drive.
  2. Turn right on Atlantic Drive (the first traffic light) and the College of Computing building is the 2nd on the left
  3. Walk through the courtyard and then across the Binary Bridge on your left to the Klaus Building (3rd floor)
  4. Once you enter the Klaus Building, take the elevator down to the 2nd  floor.
  5. Exit the elevator and follow the signs on the wall to Klaus 2405.

Walking Directions from Georgia Tech Hotel to Klaus Building:

(It is about 0.3 mi from the hotel to the Klaus Building.)

  1. Head west on 5th St NW towards Williams St NW.
  2. Continue onto Ferst Dr until you see the building on your left (see the building photo below).
  3. Go up the stairs and you will find the Klaus Research Wing on your right and Klaus Class Wing on your left. You can use either entrance to enter the building.
  4. Once you enter the building, use either the elevator or stairs to go to the 2nd floor.
  5. When you get to the 2nd floor, you may follow signs to get to Klaus 2405.

Klaus Building from Hotel

GTvisitor provides wired and wireless internet access to any visitor to the Georgia Tech campus. It is available at all wireless locations throughout the campus, including the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center.

To connect to GTvisitor, please go to the wi-fi connections on your device and select GTvisitor. You will have two options to choose from:

  1. Free: The free connection comes with a 3Mbits/s data speed, but it does not come with any technical support.
  2. Premium: If you select the Free option and discover that you require increased speeds, you may purchase a pass for Premium service, you can navigate your browser to http://4.5.6.7to log out of your existing session, and start over to choose the Premium option. The premium service comes with increased data speeds (up to 10Mbits/s), technical support, and a public IP address. The rates for the passes are $3/day, $10/week, or $30/month. The duration of access is contiguous and is not based on the amount of time the device is connected to the network. Once the user logs in, their access will expire after the amount of time associated with the account elapses, regardless of the activity of the user.
